Radon Labs R.I.P. 2000-2010

Just a quick update, because I don’t have a lot of time for blogging at the moment. As you may have noticed, Radon Labs is no more. The plug was pulled on the planned financing model for the next Drakensang, and in the end we had to pull the plug on the company. The good news in all of this is that there were a lot of interested companies to help us keep the ball rolling, and since Tuesday last week we’re a part of Bigpoint which opens up a lot of new, very interesting directions where Drakensang and the technology behind it will move in the future (obvious hint: the net may play a very important role). Unfortunately it’s too early for me to answer questions regarding Nebula in any meaningful way. We’re currently busy getting to know our new comrades, plotting strategies and making plans.

That's horrible news! You guys were building wonderful games there in Berlin and you are providing a great service to the game programming community by Open Sourcing Nebula3. I guess huge game projects like the next Drakensang game can have a too large financial risk. Hopefully you will still find the energy/time to provide a link to the N3 SDK March 2010..I just missed the download and now the link is dead. I heard there is some Bullet physics support in that release...
Good luck with all the changes in the company and hopefully you will get out of this stronger and full of interesting ideas for the future.

Very sad news indeed, I owe a lot of what I know about game development to nebula. You are a group of really talented individuals and sounds like you already landed on your feet.

Best of luck in your new enedeavour.

But...keep this blog updated please. Im never expecting something like that! I thing publishers never dont now have great developers they are closing. And the massive ones, they are here for ages.

I now what you guys were works on: A great RPG with a strong story. I love RPGs, I love stories and I live for fantasy. My absolute favorities.

But like I said...

Dear Floh, I wish you to get over this fast. The Nebula is the best technology I sew and not just for games. Truly yours, Ilya.

Wow, that's unexpected... Nebula has the best engine architecture so far. I wish you all the luck, and please continue running this blog.

Please, can someone upload the March SDK to megaupload, rapidshare or something similar? The official link is dead :( Thanks a lot!

Wow. I never really expected to see this. Radon Labs and the Nebula 2 Engine were why I got into programming out of high school.

It's sad to see the plug being pulled from Radon Labs and Nebula 3.

Keep updating the blog. I'm sure others, myself included, love your ramblings on game development.

Sad news. I am sure you are just changing the name and infrastructure of the company. You can´t just stop making games.

Mr, I have it compiling and a partial OS X build as well. But what I really need is the Maya Toolkit and MEL scripts
